We love our organic soy wax, and this is why:
As some of you will have already noticed, all our candles that we handcraft here at VIE are made from soy wax. It is a material that we absolutely love working with and it has many benefits, which we feel make our candles even more special. We thought it would be a great idea to list the wonderful benefits of soy wax so that you can read for yourself why we adore it so much.
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. It is an entirely organic and natural product. Unlike paraffin, which is a by product of crude oil refining, soy is a renewable source which makes it a great choice for our planet.
Soy wax burns much cleaner and produces less smoke than paraffin wax. Soy wax doesn’t release toxins, carcinogens or pollutants. This makes soy wax a much safer option for children and anyone with any allergies to be around, as the air will be much safer. Allowing you to create a more relaxing environment where you can take time to breathe. This also ensures that you won’t find black soot marks on your candle vessel, walls or furniture.
Easy to clean
Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin, this means that the wax becomes softer at lower temperatures. Soy wax washes away with warm soapy water, which is great news if there are any spillages. It also means that once the candle has burned down, you can clean and reuse your vessel much more easily, we love the sound of that!
As soy wax burns on average 30%-50% slower than paraffin, our candles last much longer, giving you even more time to relax and enjoy your favourite scents. As soy wax burns more slowly this allows the scent to be released more evenly, leaving you with a comfortable gentle smell that isn’t over powering, creating a calm and elegant environment.
We feel choosing natural soy wax makes a lot of sense. We hope you now understand why we feel so passionate about using it for all our candles. It is an option that is cleaner, safer and more enjoyable for you, your family and our planet!
